The unit school glider SG 38 was developed in the year 1938, then in large numbers manufactured as different sliding models. The school glider SG 38 was the first stage of learning to how to fly and thousands of pieces were built.

Many school gliders had survived the Second World War and could become certified again. The start took place by means of bungee cord.
